Biography

The fact of its being intentionally perforated, cut, or destroyed, imparts a quality of incredible profundity and beauty, involving new factors of originality and expressive strength.

With this interest in the materials themselves, matter texture and texture-color; he added a sense of space-time, incorporating new materials.

In many works he used for example X-rays, cables, earth, sand, graphites, metal filings, etc., successfully obtaining the tactile definition of shape and the nebulous contrast of light and shade which are an integral part of his psychical backgrounds.

His art is based on the substantiality of his peculiar procedures. Each of the elements employed by the painter carries its own message, without need of recourse to a thematic image for the expression of specific sensations, since color speaks its own language, as does geometric form, texture, a crack on the surface, or the very motion of the brush.
