Biography
Ramón López was born in 1956 in Madrid. Self-educated.
He worked as an illustrator, graphic designer and creative art director in advertising
and various design firms, agencies and publishing houses.
From 1978 his paintings and sculptures were exhibited in the 'Association of Painters and
Sculptors' in Madrid.
Besides some collective shows he had many individual exhibitions in various spanish towns,
also installations, wall paintings and sculptures for public plazas in many communities.
For example orders and works for the Parliament of the Balears, for the communities of Felanitx,
Consell, Inca, Andratx and Palma (all in Mallorca), also various wall paintings and
installations in Madrid.
One of the typical charcteristics in the painting of Ramon Lopez is his erroneous belief,
which does not allow a classification of his works from any schools or possible norms
of respective academies, also his absolute independence of any "...ism".

Unvoluntary he asks questions and gives riddles with his works. The english saying of
"How to stay free" and that what is on his mind in the moment he touches the brush,
his irresistible pressure for painting, who transfers his unique emotions in exactly that
second - like for example the great painter Van Gogh when he saw a flower or the face of a
woman, a stormy cloud or a wave in the sea.
Each of the selected themes contains a fullness and powerful expression of the colour spectrum,
has access to the play like a symphony, all together with everything what is magnificant
and dignified.
Viewing the works of Ramon Lopez, they are not easy and simple, i.e. like the theory of the
reality or the mechanic of a Max Born.
But still clear and understandable, for all those who understand that the time, the life,
the habit and also the art changes.
Heinrich Heine, the german poet, once said: "Other times, other birds, other songs".
Art never stands still - it is always a mirror of the current creativity...
