In these years again piracy increases more and more.  

31. December 1229
Times of the crusades. As 'King of Aragón' and 'Earl of Barcelona' Jaume I. (called 'El Conquistador') occupies and conquers Mallorca on 31 December 1229. After three months of fierce fighting near Santa Ponsa he ended the domination of the Moors.

The moorish Govenor 'Abu Yahya' had to hand out the town Palma to the crusaders on the last day of the year 1229. Still today a few streets on Mallorca are named after this 31 December.
Through the leadership of 'Jaume I.' also the overtaking piracy on Mallorca was stopped.

1230
Before Jaume I. returns to Catalonia he established a democratic state. As his substitute he named 'Bernat de Santa Eugenia de Torrella' as Govenor of Mallorca.

1276
Before Jaume I. died this year he split his kingdom between his sons.
Jaume II. - the elder son of Jaume I. - established the christian kingdom of Mallorca.

After the already existing plans of his dead father Jaume II. built the cathedral "La Seu" in Palma.
