The best beaches
Here's a small selection of beautiful beaches and bays
(Coordinates in brackets, please see also our
map of Mallorca):
Playa de Alcudia, (C1/C2) - in the north of the island; kilometers of white, fine sand beach, includes the 'Playa de Muro' up to 'Ca'n Picafort'. In summer seasons lots of tourists and nautic sportsmen.
Playa de Colonia de San Pedro, (D2) - idyllic hidden bay with an untouched nature and sandy beach.
Playa de sa Mesquida, (D2) - small sand beach without masstourism.
Cala Agulla, (D4) - one of the bays of the holiday town 'Cala Ratjada' with a white beach and dunes.
Playa de San Lorenzo, (D3) - kilometres of a very nice and sandy beach of Cala Millor (see photo left).
Cala Anguila, (D3) - near to Cala Romantica and Cala Domingo, very nice bathing bays - but still no secret anymore...
Playa els Dols, (C4) - a wide, approximately 1 km long white beach, not far from Colonia de Sant Jordi.
Playa de Sa Rapita, (C4) - marvellous beach with cristal clear water, near to "Playa Ses Covetes", "Es Trenc" and "Ses Salines". The whole area is a paradise for water sports, wind surfing etc.
Playa de Palma, (B3) - from El Arenal via Las Maravillas until Ca'n Pastilla; approx. 10 kms sandy beach. In the summer season very, very crowdy - thousands of tourists (90% german).
Playa von Palmanova, (B3) - small but nice sandy beach.
Portal Vells, (D4) - small bathing bays until Cala Figuera, also some anchor places for sailing boats and small motoryachts.
Cala de Penyes Rotjes, (A3) - nice bay, good for all kind of nautic sports.
Cala de Santa Ponsa, () - nice little bay with a sandy beach; ideal for family holidays.
Playa de Paguera, - big tourist beach but also some little bays. Crowdy in summer. Nothing for quiet tourists...
Cala Fornells, - idylic bathing bay; ideal place for sailors
Cala Lamp, - bathing bay and beach of the village Andaitx.
Cala d'en Tió, - very little known bathing bay...
Playa San Telmo, - white beach in a romantic area.
Cala Estellenc, Cala de Son Bunyola, Cala de Valldemossa,
Cala de sa Costa Brava, Cala de Deja (see right photo), Cala de Calobra, - small (partly hidden) romantic bathing bays in the north/west. Nice places to go fishing and also for nautic-sportsmen (surfing, diving etc.)
