February - Carnival / Mardigras
On monday big parade at the Playa de Palma! Only Düsseldorf, Cologne, Mainz or Rio de Janeiro is better! Something for crazy people ! ! !
March/April - Easterweek
On thursday resp. Good Friday beautiful processions in many towns and villages of Mallorca. Very nice procession in Manacor. On saturday pilgrimage with music and dancing in Lloseta.
Beginning May - Festival of the brave women
Very noisy festival: "Pirates" try to attack the city of Soller. But the brave women of the city beat the pirates and rescue the town. After the "battle" big party everywhere with a lot of wine.
29. June - ship processions
In the harbours of Palma, Andratx, Cala d'Or and Alcúdia very nice ship processions on this day in memory of holy Petrus. Worth to see.
30. June - Pilgrimage in Marratxi
Typical mallorquin festival with big market. Nice.
July/August - Pilgrimage to the monestry of Lluc
More than 50.000 pilgrims (!) are wandering today approx. 45 km from Palma to the black Madonna at the monestry of Lluch. Nice to see - but too hot to walk.
15. August - Ascension Day
Everywhere fairs and processions.
September - Week of the tourists in Cala Millor
One week the tourists and the Mallorquins are celebrating together.
Mid September - the Melons festival in Villafranca
A special thanksgiving day in which the melon plays the main part. Also in other cities of the island thanksgiving parties throughout september.
Last week in September - Wine festival in Binissalem
Try all the different wines of Mallorca ! ! ! Wow !
Beginnin November - Dijous Bó
A big agriculture fair and market in Inca. Probably the biggest fair on the whole island (everything included...).
31. December - Festa de l'Estandart
The traditional festival of flags (only during the day). Especially in Palma very impressive to see.
